Everyone recommends the same stuff for a reason. For two people you need 2 xiao long bao, 1 pork/shrimp/chive dumplings, 1 garlic green beans, and 1 beef pancakes. Authentic Chinese is THE BEST.
-
It's known for its Northern-style shuijiao dumplings, which are more oblong, have thicker wrappers, and fillings like lamb or pork and cabbage. Read more

"The soup dumplings have a savory broth inside that I love. It comes with a tart vinegar and ginger sauce, which goes really well. These are my absolute favorite on this planet." - Chef Anamika Khanna Read more

Really solid XLB, obviously. Obsessed with the garlic string beans, traditional scallion pancakes and their fried, chow mein noodles are always good to throw into the mix.
-
The garlic green beans and soup dumplings are amazing; Two must-orders! Also had the onion pancake and spinach/egg dumplings, which were good, but not as amazing as the soup dumplings and green beans.
-
hHad to the northern-style section of the menu, led by plump and juicy boiled dumplings, sold by the dozen Read more

Love love love their boiled dumplings, beef pancake, fried rice, beef noodle soup, string beans and fried rice. Hands down my favorite Chinese restaurant in SF.
-
The guy who works here is so nice! He goes out of his way to greet you and make you feel welcome! 😊
-
BAD SERVICE - Red head didn't ask for drinks. And then when we asked for water she gave us 2 cups. [We're a party of 4] #NoTipWaiter GOOOD FOOD tho! Order the spicy BEEF TENDONS, don't be scurred! :)
-
Tips are spot on. The Soup Dumplings and the garlic string beans are delicious. Small restaurant and it was pretty full at 2:30 on a Weekday.
-
Pork & chive dumplings and garlic string beans are good, but Dumpling Kitchen down the street has better XLB and a lot more space.
-
The tiny, scrappy hole-in-the-wall dumpling shop on Taraval certainly doesn't look like any sort of kingdom, but the food lives up to the name and its cult-like reputation. Read more

Soup of dumpling is a must! And else chicken corn , pork celery and a Tsing Tao beer
-
Thongs here are authentic. They really mean it when they say handmade. I always recommend the staple soup dumplings and pork dumplings with cabbage.
-
Why mess around? Just order a ton of soup dumplings. No need to mess with other ones, even if they have great personalities.
-
The xlb skin is a lot thicker than Dumpling Kitchen down the st. If you like your skin thick, this is the place for you. I prefer thin skin and say Dumpling Kitchen is a much better place to get xlb.
-
Come for the soup dumplings, but consider the scallion pancakes too. They are the perfect vector for the great habanero sauce.
-
Pretty grimy and hot inside the establishment, but the soup dumplings, garlic dry fried green beans, chicken and corn dumplings...sooooo gooood
-
This place was voted #8 of the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the USA! Gotta try the soup dumpling and garlic string beans!
-
Shanghai Dumpings (6 per order) are delicious. Sauce may have too much vinegar so you don't really need it. The cold bean noodles (pic) are really tasty too!
-
one of the first meals I had in SF in 2007, still a staple destination.
-
Order for pickup via eat24 to avoid crazy wait time during peak dining hours!
-
Soup dumplings (Xiao long bao) let it cool. It's delicious! Get it with some onion pancakes
-
Everything is amazing here! I wish we had a dumpling place where I live in Santa Cruz!
-
Now for the wait list, you go two doors down the street to 1725 Taraval to put your name on the wait list.
-
The chicken and corn dumplings were amazingly great.
-
This place is heaven. Try everything. Obviously dumplings.
-
Just go in back to kitchen to pick up to go orders. They also prioritize your order if you go tell them that you are here
-
You must order all at once or they won't let you order again. Cash only.
-
Love love love their take out frozen dumplings. Hand made by ladies in the back room!
-
This tiny place offers really good and reasonable dishes. Worth to stopping by.
-
If you want to get the pan fried dumplings (or other food) don't come here on their lunch time which is between 2-4 pm or else you are going to have to wait till they finish eating.
-
The orange condiment on the table is spicy, add it to everything from XLB to soup!
-
All the dumplings
-
Heartbreaking, Dumplings came out quickly. Skewers took eons to come out, plus its warm not hot when arrived. This place had a city rating of 89, bugs flying around the dinning area.
-
There's a reason why this place is called Kingdom of Dumpling, the noodles here are meh. The pork and corn dumplings are great!
-
Literally anything you get is delicious. Loved the pork and chive dumplings especially.
-
Excellent soup dumpling broth. Hard to order anything else!

Such good soup dumplings and pancakes- even the meat ones!

Service is lacking, but the food is good. The decor leaves a lot to be desired. I love the chicken and corn, and the chicken and celery.
